The plastic cutlery meticulously manufactured by TAIR CHU has passed the 'BS EN 12875-1:2005 Dishwasher Durability Test' and can withstand up to 125 machine wash cycles!
The plastic cutlery commonly found on the market is often thin, and after a meal, the plastic cutlery are sometimes covered in folds. Typically, they cannot be used again.
The plastic cutlery produced by TAIR CHU comes with thickness, and many customers inquire if these plastic cutlery can be reused. So, how can you determine whether these plastic cutlery items can be reused?
In Canada and Australia, there are regulations regarding how to identify non-disposable plastic products.
In Canada, if there is a significant change in the physical properties of the product after 100 dishwasher cycles, it's classified as disposable cutlery.
In Australia, plastic cutlery is mostly considered disposable unless it passes a dishwasher test of 125 cycles.
We sent three of our best-selling plastic cutlery to SGS S.A. for the 'BS EN 12875-1:2005 Dishwasher Durability Test.' These utensils include the 10cm dessert fork favored by pastry chefs, a heat-resistant 16cm plastic soup spoon made of PP material, and the 22cm cake server.
During the test, plastic household items (plastic cutlery) are placed inside a dishwasher and subjected to 125 wash cycles using SGS-certified detergent. This tests the utensils' durability under the combined effects of chemical, heat, and mechanical stresses in a household dishwasher.
The test report shows that all three plastic cutlery sent for inspection by TAIR CHU received a 'Pass' result. In other words, these three utensils can be machine washed at least 125 times and are suitable for everyday use! They are reusable plastic cutlery!
This shows that they are not just plastic cutlery, but also everyday utensils that customers can take home 🤩, reducing the disposal of plastic utensils.
If not using a dishwasher, you can clean them with regular dish soap and a sponge (please avoid using scouring pads or steel brushes). When the cutlery have scratches, chips, or breakage, please replace them promptly.
